The challenge

What extended reach is here to solve

Many deployments still hit the same bottlenecks: 100 m design constraints, extra cabinets, unnecessary active devices, more failure points and more cost. Hyperspan XR™ was created to challenge that model.

Conventional Ethernet channel design is commonly constrained around 100 metres. On CCTV perimeters, campuses, warehouses and awkward buildings, that often forces intermediate switches, PoE extenders or extra cabinets into the topology.

XR™ supports longer practical copper runs for data and PoE on a single continuous link — so more of the network can stay direct from switch to device when channel construction, termination quality and connected equipment allow.

Performance depends on cable type, link length, active equipment, termination quality, installation conditions and the required application. Refer to the applicable Hyperspan technical data sheet and approved test profile. Hyperspan XR is an application-specific extended-reach solution and must not be represented as standards-compliant Category 6 channel performance beyond the applicable standards limit.
